Anumodana!

**Quote **

Anumodana is a difficult word to translate into English. Literally, it means "rejoicing together," but it can also mean approval and encouragement.

The tradition of Buddhist monks' giving anumodana to donors of food and other requisites goes back to the time of the Buddha.

**unquote **

I thought maybe I should say my Anumodana to all the people that have helped in organizing or going to participate in this camp. I know it is not easy to organize one, but I wish for everyone that help in organizing this camp will be blessed with a happy mind, lighter heart, and with more peace and joy. Also I know, those that have signed up for this camp have good intention, may it for the benefit of themselves/others or for the support for this camp. For those that can’t make it, still considering , still thinking, … whatever your choice is, may it benefit you utmost. I hope non of us will have negative feeling whether you join or not join for this camp.
We all still have long road to travel together in the future. May you all be well and happy.

Daanañca peyya-vajjañca..."

Generosity, kind words, beneficial action,
And treating all consistently,
in line with what each deserves:
These bonds of fellowship (function) in the world
like the linchpin in a moving cart.
Now, if these bonds of fellowship were lacking,
A mother would not receive
the honor & respect owed by her child,
Nor would a father receive
what his child owes him.
But because the wise
show regard for these bonds of fellowship,
They achieve greatness and are praised.

Note: These verses are from the Sangaha-vatthu Sutta (Discourse on the Bonds of Fellowship), Anguttara Nikaya IV.32.

Dear friends of PPB USM,

It has been years for some of us since we have come together. Through the initiative of Sister Kelly, Brother Chong Sing and other committed volunteers, the first Ex-PPB USM Reunion Dhamma Camp will be held on May 1 - 3, 2009, located at Mount Erskine, Penang. The Dhamma activities that will be held are Dhamma talks, Dhamma discussion, forum, meditation, chanting etc.

The camp theme and objectives are stated in the poster above, as well as on the application form below.

This camp will start from 2pm on May 1 until 11am on May 3, 2009.

As the space is limited, we are unable to cater to all ex-PPB USM members. There are only 50 seats available, and the applicants must be an Ex-PPB USM member. Please fill in the form below, and the organising committees will inform you if you have succeeded in securing a place for the camp.

The fee is yet to be determined.
Closing date for the application is March 31, 2009.

Thank you. May you be well and happy.
